Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip Wind Direction: ENE Wind Stength: F 4- 5 Surf / Sea State: big waves / swell Air Temperature: cool Sea Temperature: ok Weather: cool Max Speed: 22.3 kts (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 9 nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Mad dash to get there by 5.00, several regulars out + kiters on the mid
tide. Wind was about F4/5 but sea was big, so rig 7.2 Hellcat / JP129 pro
which was spot the first 1/2hr but the sea was getting bigger and the board
was just too quick for the conditions flying over waves. I stuck the wrong
fin in 44 instead of 38cm, which was causing me a lot of grief.
Great riding the waves back in but knee shattering going back out. Managed
4 clean gybes, drank the North sea on all the others!
A few changed down as the wind increased about 6.30 and on the high tide
the sea was horrendous near the river buoy. Glad I had a 7.30 appointment
and left early.
I think most enjoyed the sail. Would have give 5***** if it was low
tide.....
